"Foam Day" Print
"Foam Day" Print
This painting was the first piece I sold in 2018. Before that, I had sold one drawing, years before, and I had a few paintings hanging in my parents’ house. That was it! I was so excited that someone wanted it that I delivered it with THE PAINT STILL WET. Its bright, washed out colors are inspired directly by the way our local beach feels in the morning when the sun is rising fast in the sky. The day feels full of hope and energy and color as the foamy waves lap the shore, making me want to dip my toes in. I do. I dive under a small swell of a wave and come up through the bubbles, listening to them pop while my eyes are still closed. The salty air smells fresh — the heat of the day hasn’t yet warmed the seaweed up to where you can smell it. I wipe the water from my eyes and squeeze out my hair, and head in to start my day.
This print comes signed, titled, and matted to fit an 11×14” frame opening.
