In May, us New Englanders start to get our first tastes of summer. Crisp blue skies and more daylight hours, punctuated by the rapid emergence of greenery on trees and shrubs. It lures us outside and into the sun, despite the the temperature being considerably colder than it appears through our windows. These springtime adventures are full of hope and energy as we feel the warm months of summer approaching, and this painting is meant to capture that feeling.
